Private Chauffeur Tours of the UK

Our Jane Austen Tour take you to the most important locations associated with one of England’s most celebrated authors and can be taken at any time of the year, summer or winter. The 200th anniversary of Jane's death was on 18th July 1817 therefore there is no better time to experience one of our tours and capture the essence of this romantic author.

After collection from your London hotel our one day tour takes you to the 17th Century house in Chawton where Jane Austen spent the last eight years of her life. It is of international importance as the place where she did the majority of her mature writing, but at the same time retains the charm of a village home. You will then be taken to Jane Austen’s birthplace where she lived from 1775 to 1801, and where she wrote Pride & Prejudice, Northanger Abbey and Sense & Sensibility. It would then be appropriate to visit Winchester which is where Jane died on 18th July 1817. She is buried in Winchester Cathedral and you can see a memorial gravestone in the nave.

While absorbing the history you have just seen your chauffeur guide will take you to a magical village that has been frozen in time and is a firm favourite for film and TV producers, most notably for its picturesque streets and historic cottages, untouched by modern alterations. Lacock’s most famous appearances include the BBC’s Pride and Prejudice and Cranford, and the films Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Downton Abbey and Wolfman.

As your journey is as important as your destination then sit back and relax in one of our luxurious vehicles. Our prices are per vehicle NOT per person and include your chauffeur guide, collection and return to your central London hotel but not entrance fees where applicable, parking or meals.
